More inspiration from Oprah!!

It’s been almost a week since I had the opportunity to go and see Oprah live, and I thought I’d share a bit more about the awesome goodness she shared with us.

  • Make gratitude a part of your life. Gratitude is the single most important force to change negative to positive.
  • Align yourself with the force in your life – accept the glory given to you and run with it allowing it to work with you to achieve what you are seeking.

Oprah is always asking…

“God work through me in this moment”

When we invite God in this way, it is possible for us to be lifted to higher grounds. Life always awaits us to align ourselves with what it is that we want.

  • The challenges in life are there to bring us closer to who we truly are. It forces us to go deeper into ourselves. Often we think we know who we are, we really don’t until faced with a challenge of some sort.
  • Oprah clearly showed us that we are not the challenge we are faced with… we are not the divorce, we are not the argument with a friend, and we are not the job loss. It is through trials and challenges where we will find our way to our true self.
  • We are only in control of our own energy field. Focus on staying in your own energy and not getting wrapped up in everyone else’s. Also remember that the energy that you put out there comes back to you ten-fold, so be sure that the energy you wish to attract back to yourself is what you are putting out there.
  • Work at being whole.
  • Change the way you look at things.

Then Oprah spoke to us about whispers. That little voice from within that we all have, that is there to guide us on our journey.

The Universe always speaks to us first in whispers. The whispers usually feels like something that might not make any sense, and you’ll ask yourself, is that right what I’m hearing? It’s that subtle. If you don’t pay attention to the whispers they get louder, louder and louder like a thump on the side of the head or a pebble being thrown at you, and if you still don’t pay attention to it then it will be like getting a brick on side of the head… and when you don’t pay attention to that the brick wall comes down often in the form of a crisis or disaster of some sort.

What is whispering to you?

Are you hearing the whispers?

Are you paying attention and taking action even if it doesn’t always make sense?

  • Open your heart, let the light in and do everything by intention of love.
  • Your beliefs are the lenses through which you see the world. You are constantly co-creating your life.
  • Truly believe and you can have it.

An inspiring evening with Oprah!!

And lastly a poem that Oprah shared with us…

Love After Love

The time will come
when, with elation
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror
and each will smile at the other’s welcome,

and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you

all your life, whom you ignored
for another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,

the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.

  1. Awesome post! All of the above are what I’ve been working on in my life and I do so believe we receive what we put out, whether mentally, energetically, etc.

  2. I love how you’ve opened your heart to receive what was offered here Suzanne. It feels like you listened to a whisper and brought it to full voice!

  3. The comment that struck me the most here is “work on being whole.” I love this. What a wonderful opportunity for you to have spent that time with her. Sounds like there were many nuggets of wisdom in there and I feel blessed to have you to share them with us.

    • I kept looking at those four words myself as I typed them out. They are only a few words but hold a lot of power and truth I also believe. Thank you for coming over to read my post. xo

  4. I agree, Suzanne, every challenge is an invitation to become a better version of ourselves, with gratitude. I’m now practicing listening to the whispers too. I tell my children, even when you think you don’t know, a part of you, deep inside, does know. Connect with that part; it will not lead you astray. I strongly believe that. And also, that it is easier to proceed one baby step at a time. When i feel down these days, i go inside and ask what it is that I want and what step it is that I can take to be closer to it. It’s worked wonders. Love the poem too! Thank you!

  5. I’ve seen this poem before, Suzanne, and I always have to read it over and over, and it always makes me cry. I can feel how much the visit with Oprah has touched you, and I know that as you allow the principles to become part of you, something beautiful will emerge. Thank you for sharing, Suzanne. This was beautiful.

  9. Suzanne, I just printed this post out so I can read it again and again. It’s so true that gratitude is a key toward more fulfillment. I love Oprah! I just read something Tara Sophia Mohr wrote about connecting more with our soul than with our ego and it sounded so much like something Oprah and Ekhardt Tolle would say. If you want, I’ll find it and send it to you. 🙂

  13. My favorite line was… “You are constantly co-creating your life.” I love the idea that I do have the power to create the life I desire. I believe we create a life based on fear or based on love through our thoughts and intentions. It’s so easy to allow fear to be the driving force, and it takes more thought and intention to let love take the wheel but it is sooooo worth it!!! ♥
