9 months and 1 1/2 weeks later

If I was talking pregnancy here, then this baby would be due. But I’m not, instead I’m talking about the amount of time that has passed since I pressed the button that would make my website (blog) go live at the end of April 2012. I had never been so nervous in my life.

The 6 months leading up to that day I spent an incredible amount of time and energy figuring out how I would even do it. I hired someone to help me find my answers. You can read about it here. Very few people knew what my dreams were. I kept my dreams well guarded like a secret for a very long time. Until one day it was bubbling over and I had to start sharing with more than my family. A little at a time I got brave enough to tell one more person then another that I wanted to write and I wanted to create. I wanted this dream to succeed but I was also afraid that I might not be able to do it. I felt terrified of failure. I was even afraid of succeeding.

It has taken me almost a lifetime to become brave enough so I could step into who I truly am

Listening to the sweet whispers from my soul is helping me get there… and trust. Each day I seem to become braver and more fully able to embrace who I am and to do what I wish to do. For me it was by really looking at what I was most afraid of, and finding a way to get through it that was most important. There were days that I felt like I was going after my fears with a jack hammer. When you hear that inner voice loudly calling you to do something… YOU HAVE TO DO IT! That voice cannot be silenced and should never be silenced. Once you know this, you have to take action. And trust me when you will take that step, everything will start to fall into place so much easier.

I had chosen a day in April that I wanted to have my website go live. In numerology terms, that April I was a 1 month and that day was a 1 day for me. So at 11:11 pm that evening, that is when I chose to make my website live for the world to see. I was excited because if my calculations were correct with all of these 1’s, the energy of that day and time was all about new beginnings, new chapter in life, creation and seeing a way to open up to the new in all ways. That alone was awesome to me. I loved what the #1 meant with regards to what I was about to do. This was a dream come true for me to be able to write and if I could have even more positive energy guiding this dream along then I was very grateful to accept it..

It’s been a true labour of love to have carried this dream for so many years and to have arrived this far. Yesterday marked the anniversary of my 100th blog post that was written. It may not sound like a huge deal but for me it is a huge deal. I have poured my heart, blood, sweat and tears into this dream of sharing and creating what I have wanted for so long. Most of my blog posts take a tremendous amount of time to write and create. I often will joke that it is like having a full-time job some days because of the amount of hours that it takes to do. But even that will not discourage me. I love what I am doing. So today has me reminiscing to those 9 months and 1 1/2 weeks and all that I have created since that time. It is my way of celebrating my accomplishments and finally starting to live some of my dreams. So if you allow me I’d like to now share with you…

My very first post Life is a Journey was published on April 27th at 11:11 pm.

Each step of the way...

Each step of the way…

Since then it has been about trusting … each step of the way … that I am exactly where I am meant to be, and doing exactly what I am meant to be doing.

Talk about numbers aligning for you! Congratulations on being prolific and writing 100+ posts! I can’t believe I read 100 posts… since I haven’t missed one!

  2. Congratulations my dear!! I love the month of April – it’s the month I married my high school sweetheart. I can feel your love and joy bubbling over in your posts and am truly honored to be a fan of yours. That quote by Thoreau is one of my favorites. Funny story… my friend makes quote signs and gave me that one and I remember as I posted it on my wall thinking, “Hmmm, I wonder why she gave me this. I am living my dream as a school teacher.” Within a few years I left teaching to become an entrepreneur and I have a funny feeling that looking at that sign every day changed the course of my life. It certainly was a gift.

  4. I love that you hand-picked some of your favorites. I was immediately drawn to the “ripples” post since I firmly believe that by helping others create a habit of being mindful, present and compassionate, I create lots, and lots of ripples, until some of them reach my shore.
