Happy 55th Wedding Anniversary Mom & Dad!

We had the honour this past weekend of celebrating my parents
55th Wedding Anniversary!

55 years ago you began your life as a beautiful young couple

your family would grow to include us 4 children… 2 boys and 2 girls

we have watched you both grow in so many ways throughout all those years

working hard was something that you both have done all along and it’s been a perfect example for us to learn from

you were blessed in so many ways

you have travelled to many places all of your married life

you even attempted camping which you managed to love doing for almost 20 years and just now are hanging up that hat

and several decades later your small family has grown to include 13 grandchildren and several great-grand-children

as we celebrated this important milestone at our home this past weekend

the weather was perfect enough for us to host the party outdoors

we had some pleasant surprises

45 people attended

brothers, sisters, cousin, your children and spouses, grandchildren and great-grandson all there to celebrate you both

we could not have asked for a more perfect day in every sense of the word

many precious photos were taken

the best photos taken, in my opinion

were of you mom with your brothers and sisters
sometimes so many years seem to go by without having almost everyone come together

and dad for you the pictures with your brothers were very precious since most are already gone, what a blessing to have seen most of them make it

so many came to celebrate with you both

some having a distance to travel

it was wonderful to see my many aunts and uncles

some I had not seen in a long time

for me it brought back so many memories of what seemed like a few short years ago

when we were all so much younger

life seems to go by us too fast

this was a perfect occasion to remember even those that have passed,
remembering the good old days when everyone got together and the fun that was had

I wish I could pause days like this one or at least be able to put it in slow motion

it seemed that it was over before we knew it and everyone was returning home

in hopes of re-uniting at another happy occasion soon.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MOM & DAD!

I’m wishing you both many more wonderful, healthy and happy years together that will continue to be filled with adventure and lots of fun!!

Thank You so much for the beautiful poem and for sharing your home with all our familys. What a lovely day of sharing with family. We will always look back at our 55th anniversary with great memories. Thanks again. Love Mom and Dad

    • You’re welcome Mom and Dad… glad you loved your special day as much as we did. And putting my prayer beads on the clothesline the night before brought us exactly the weather we had hoped for that day. I’m so happy for both of you and how much this has meant to you both.
