Never doubt the power of prayer!!

What do you do in times of confusion… overwhelm… or despair? Do you give up? Do you scream out at just how unfair life is sometimes? Do you try and figure it out with your head, all on your own? Do you shrink away? Do you pray at times like this?

A few days ago I was stuck in that place of despair, and certainly overwhelmed by many things in my life. I was feeling defeated. It was one of those days. I was feeling weakened by it all. I was stuck there seeing no way through or out of it.

That same evening on the drive back from somewhere, I decided to close my eyes in the car (I wasn’t the one driving) and I began telling God about how the load that I was carrying in life was feeling just a tad too heavy. In that moment, I decided to surrender it all to Him. I certainly hadn’t been able to figure some of it out, so I might as well give it all away to someone who has a greater power than what I had to see me through it.

I even went to my oracle cards and asked for insights before bed.

Oracle Cards

The messages from the cards that were in reverse position (upside down), told me of the chaos and imperfection that was appearing around me… it talked about the viewpoint I had chosen and how it was up to me to make another choice to shift my perception. I got the message, and it made sense. The other card spoke of the ugliness and neglect. Everywhere the decay and sadness. Depression threatening a sense of well-being. Again it talked of gaining another perspective.

Feeling pretty desperate I decided to pray again before going to sleep and asked God again for help through this difficult time.

Surprisingly, I slept good that night, there was no insomnia for a change.

When I woke up the next morning, I opened my iPad to listen to a meditation recording but just before doing so, I saw that I had a few messages waiting to be read. I felt the need to open the one message before I did my meditation.

As I began reading the short message… I was stunned. I almost could not believe what I was reading…

… what are the chances that an online friend Amy Riddle a.k.a. The Magick Muse would share about the dream that she had with me in it. She had no way of knowing my talk with God the night before. There was no doubt in my mind that He came through her dream with this message for me. This was divinely orchestrated if you ask me. I thank you for sharing it with me Amy.

God was sending me the STRENGTH I needed!!

strength

It was so miraculous to see how just one simple little word could hold such an incredibly healing power and message of hope for me.

A renewed sense of hope that wasn’t there the night before magically transformed me instantly as I read her message. I would not have received this if I had not opened up my heart to God in sharing what was ailing me.

This has been a powerful lesson for me, that the real magic, healing power and transformation comes in asking, surrendering and trusting.

Never doubt the power of prayer!!

  1. Dearest Suzanne, thank you for sharing this timely message. I, too have been in this very spot for many days. Trying to be a support for another person in my life has drained me of my own strength. I am encouraged this day because of you.

I just read your message to this person, who is struggling so much in “surrendering” and hoping (praying) he understands… love to you my dear!

  2. Suzanne, your post is a message for me. 🙂 Times are a bit trying over here too and I’ve been praying a lot. I even got a book about the power of prayer and how it really works. I’m not surprised that you received validation from the Universe. It’s really supporting us when we allow it. The other day I was driving and asking for a message about what to do about a particular issue in my life. On 3 different vehicles I got 3 different words, in this perfect order: “internal – compass – love”. I re-centered into love then and resolved my issue. Amazing, right? When you pray. know that I pray. And together we hold power. ♥

  3. Yes, there is something about faith giving us just what we need to persevere. I actually am open to many faith messages and listen to/read/draw inspiration from many lands.
Nice post! Do you ever read Anne Lamott? She’s wonderful.

  5. Wow! Another affirmation that God or the Universe works through other people to give us the message we need when we are unable to retrieve it ourselves. Who needs others? We all do! Thank you for sharing this wonderful validation!

  6. thank you for sharing, i needed this right now. =)

  7. Wow! Thank you for sharing such an amazing experience!
What a beautiful reminder or both giving and receiving messages. Also a nudge to all of us to go ahead and share when we have dreams or experiences that remind us of someone. You never know when that is a message they deeply need.

  8. I truly believe in the power of prayer. I call in my angels and God to give me strength and surround me with warm golden energy. Often. The more the better for me. I’m learning how to be still and receive. So I can give. An infinite circle of energy. Thanks for sharing this sweet story Suzanne.

  9. Suzanne, what a wonderful story. Thank you for sharing it. I absolutely believe in the power of prayer and of surrender. Let go and let God, I’m always told. And, yay for Amy sharing her dream with you. Yup, no doubt at all that your angels are watching over you. 🙂

  10. Thanks for passing along the “strength” God does answer all prayers for sure. I too have been praying. But instead of a friend having a dream about me, I was gifted an acquaintance to give me what I needed. Thank you!
May your days be blessed with strength in all forms. 🙂

  11. Wow. I have chills. Answered prayer is so delicious.

Every now and then, I have dreams that somehow feel they’re meant for someone else. Sometimes I share them, sometimes I don’t. Amy’s dream for you reminds me of how powerful it can be to share.
