The last of my retreat and the end of summer days…

In this blog post you will find a visual of the things I saw last week while I was away at my retreat. What was to be a 5 day retreat turned into a 7 day get-away. On Thursday evening my husband came down after work instead of driving home only to get up early Friday morning (his day off) to come and pick me up where I was staying. That evening we spoke with the kids and our daughter told us that they would love it if we didn’t come back home until Sunday.

So after 5 days in the cottage that I had rented I had to give it up because it was booked for the weekend. We got to stay in a cozy little efficiency unit which was just fine. The weather was absolutely spectacular, hot and sunny the time I was there for the 7 days. It was not surprising to me since it’s the kind of summer it’s been this year.

There were so many ducks that came around the deck. And there were beautiful flowers everywhere.

This is a little peak of what my cottage space looked like. It was the size of a small home. It was very comfortable. The living room where that bar table and stools were was facing the river which was about 15 feet away.

I happened to wake up early one morning and saw the sunrise which is a rare occurrence for me. I enjoyed a few smoothies last week, it felt really good to be eating this healthy. I was happy with my decision to take my Vitamix with me, although my daughter missed not having it at home. Along the river front there was 300′ of board walks and a large deck with benches and adirondack chairs in the shade and some in the sun. There were beautiful flowerbeds all along the boardwalks going up to the cottages. I had my deck also at my cottage where I spent a lot of my time in the sun everyday reading which is how I also got a bit of colour on my skin.

In the clouds, the top photo on the left it was taken at a restaurant where we had lunch on Saturday. What I saw in the cloud nearest the trees was a cloud version of our dog Russell looking away like he does when we take his picture. We also did a bit of touring this weekend. I was still very much in a relaxed mode.

This week I celebrate and I’m grateful for many things…

-the amazing opportunity I had last week and the extended break that was unexpected…

-recently I read a few great blog posts about energy clearing and space clearing… which has been on my mind for way too long for me to do at home as well…

-the heron at the cottage who taught me so much last week… from being still and connecting with that energy for myself… to much to my surprise realizing it was just a stick in the water with sea weeds… to seeing the real heron… and having a good laugh at myself in the process… to the animal totem message that heron has, which I connected with very much…

-last week I connected online with another blogger, in reading more about her on her website I discovered she was giving away FREE 15 minute intuitive healing sessions, her goal to do one free session per state and one per country. Yesterday I was the very fortunate Canadian to receive a session…

-today I received an hour of EFT on Skype with someone and tomorrow I get to Skype for my session with my Heilkunst Practitioner that I haven’t talked to in a month. I feel like I have lived a lifetime in this past month. So this will be a very interesting session for me. I cannot wait…

-my Reiki room is slowly getting put back together… new lights should be going in shortly, then hang up a few things on the walls and my husband will build me something that I need for the room (pictures to come soon)…

-there’s been so much goodness… and here’s one more to add to my long list. A few weeks ago another blogger with which I took an e-course earlier this year was working on a new program for her business and had a survey she wanted people to fill in if they had issues with weight loss and that would help her somehow. She was giving away a few 1 hour free coaching sessions valued at $299. I entered it to help her out with little expectations of winning anything… and next thing I knew there in my inbox was an email saying that I was one of the winners. Tomorrow I get to talk with her. I’m excited. I may just get to the bottom of actually losing the extra 15 lbs that seems to be stuck. I realize that it is probably somehow connected to emotions that I haven’t been able to figure out or somehow get to the root cause of, and of course there’s the body image thing comes along with that. So I’m really excited to see what can be worked on tomorrow with AnaLisa from TruHunger

-in 3 weeks I have something else that is very exciting for me that I will be taking, it will last 5 weeks in total… flying lessons! It’s not something I thought I’d ever be doing. But so many others in my blogging e-course earlier this year did it and it has changed their lives. So shortly I’ll be taking off with Kelly Rae Robert’s Flying Lessons. I probably had you wondering about flying lessons here. I’m sure you were thinking of real flying lessons. I’ll leave those for my husband one day… in the meantime mine will have a slightly different meaning.

-this week I finished two EFT programs I had done online for the past couple of months, both programs have been excellent and I’ve met some incredible people on this journey…

-and last but not least… I’m so grateful for this time of the year, temperatures are getting slightly cooler and one of my favourite seasons is coming up… fall. Already the leaves in our yard are turning colours and there are leaves that are falling. It’s been such a dry summer I’m not sure how long the leaves will hold on for this year… and lastly I am forever grateful that both my kids are finished with school. I truly don’t miss those crazy structured routines… I prefer our new-found freedom.

  1. Thanks for sharing your retreat with us. The cottage and the surrounding looked very calm and peaceful. I’m glad it was a good thing for you.
I, too, got a laugh out loud (more than a chuckle) at your heron story. We are all human and it’s fun to share that part of ourselves.
The Flying Lessons with KRR you will get alot out of it. She tells you excatly how to get from point A to point B. I really appreciated the fact that you shouldn’t panic if you can’t keep up because you get the entire class in a PDF. I made it approx. 1/4 of the way because I wasn’t “there” yet. So… don’t get overwhelmed. You will love it!
    Welcom Back, to fb world!

    • Thanks for sharing about your e-course with Kelly Rae Roberts. It sounds like one I took earlier this year. I’m just about ready to review the first half that I had completed and continue on with the rest… hopefully before this next one starts in 3 weeks. I think this will be my last big e-course for this year. I’m really looking forward to Flying Lessons because my daughter will also be in the group this time. This will be great for both of us to be doing this class together.
I think the heron is completely out of my system now and I’m done laughing at myself… for now at least. ๐Ÿ™‚
      Thanks for dropping in.

I know you’ll have a wonderful time in the course and bond with lots of great woman. Thank you for all your kind words and sweet encouragement about the bunnies.

Have a sideways bunny-head smile, my daughter invented it. =:0)

    • Lenore, so you’re another of the great woman who took Kelly Rae’s flying class. People seem to be crawling out of the woodwork announcing they have taken it as well and loved it. It certainly confirms that I’m going to the right place. I feel blessed to be doing it at the same time as my daughter as well as many other great woman. Yeah! Can’t wait to start.

I just love your bunnies and reading your blog posts and seeing all the wonderful things you are creating at Rare Rabbits Designs. It always puts a smile on my face. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ll be flying right there with you in Kelly Rae’s class. We seem to be traveling in the same direction this year. Can’t wait to see where this takes us! xo

  5. Hi Suzanne,

This all sounds so peaceful and wonderful. Ahhh, nice. Sounds like you are very good at your own personal development! I am popping over from Michele Bergh’s forum, so I just wanted to pop in and say hello.

    • Thank you Amy for dropping by. I’m not sure that I’m very good at my own personal development, but it is something that I thrive to learn from most days. I will be going to visit your website. I’m not familiar with Tao Te Ching and I’m very curious. ๐Ÿ™‚
