Mystery of the heron

Ha! My eyes might have fooled me about the so-I-thought-it-was-a-heron at my retreat at the cottage all week standing still not moving… but I caught the real heron on camera yesterday morning. Mystery solved.

Don’t you think the real heron looks like the stick with sea-weed on the right?

  1. OK….if it makes your day brighter.!!!! LOL. Yes it looks like it could be a heron. What gets me is it never moves!

    • Well the real heron moved. I saw it a few times now. It’s just been one of those stupid things that’s had me laughing since I discovered what I thought I had seen and what I had written about. I think that I have it almost all out of my system now.

  2. Yes! I most certainly would have thought the same about that silhouette. I sometimes see those fake owls on rooftops and think they’re real. When I first moved here, I was amazed at how our neighbor’s home always attracted the owls and ours didn’t! My husband had a similar reaction to yours!

  3. Suzanne, Delightful to go back and find the heron story! Check this out for knowing more about the heron energy: http://www.linsdomain.com/totems/pages/heron.htm

  4. Hahaha…yes! Looks real to me. I probably would’ve thrown half a loaf of bread at it and figured it didn’t move because they don’t eat bread.

My husband woke me up early one Sunday morning whispering there were three albino fawn lying down on our driveway. I looked out the window and said, umm…no dear, they’re not real. He wouldn’t believe me until I marched down and petted the concrete garden sculptures some kids had left during the night.

At least you didn’t try to pet the heron, Suzanne. Or did you… : )

    • That is too funny Susan. Loved reading this. I’ve had a few people this past week tell me of their similar silly funny stories. It made me feel better. lol
No I didn’t attempt to go and pet the heron. I never thought of that one. It certainly was a good laugh at your home too. 🙂

  5. Oh my, this is awesome! About a month ago, I sat on my balcony, posed with my camera, waiting for the cool bird on top of the roof to fly off…in hopes of getting some great photos…until I realized it was part of the tree! LOL
